Rutherford Cross is delighted to be exclusively partnered with a premium drinks business in Glasgow to appoint a Graduate Finance Analyst. This represents an excellent opportunity for either a candidate who has recently graduated from university or someone with one year's experience working in a finance function. The appointed candidate will be supported through their professional qualification whilst engaging with commercial stakeholders and supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner.

Main Purpose of Job:

As the Graduate Finance Analyst, you will provide timely and accurate business support to key stakeholders in Sales, Marketing and Operations within the business. This includes being involved in financial analysis, monthly reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and general financial and systems support. Training contract to gain CIMA or ACCA qualifications.

Qualifications & Experience:

Entry level Finance role. This role would be ideal for someone looking to start and develop their Finance career in the drinks industry. Previous experience working in a Finance team would be advantageous but is not essential as full training, support and coaching will be provided.

Knowledge:

  • Educated to degree level, open to any discipline
  • Proficient in Excel to an intermediate level with a strong capability in pivot tables, lookups, etc
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Ability to own, coordinate and prioritise workload to deliver multiple deadlines

What You Will Be Doing:

Deliver month end processes and regular reporting:

  • Responsibility for on-going Commercial Finance, in conjunction with the wider Finance team(s)
  • Ensure integrity of the relevant P&L reporting
  • Assist with full month-end close procedures in distilling area
  • Ensure the completeness and accuracy of financial accruals (e.g., A&P, Strategic Marketing, etc)
  • Prepare and review detailed variance analysis at month end to ensure any movements versus plan and prior year are fully understood across the business
  • Prepare monthly KPI reports for distilling area
  • Provide key stakeholders with accurate financial analysis and reporting to enable them to effectively measure performance
  • Support Sales and Marketing teams with new product proposals, analysis of promotional mechanics, and ongoing customer data requirements
  • Timely completion of balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support ad hoc data and analysis requests from Commercial Finance/ Operations Finance teams

Support budgeting and forecasting:

  • Support the planning processes for annual budgets, monthly/ quarterly forecasts, and strategic 5-year plan
  • Ensure all known pricing and cost changes are incorporated into each forecasting cycle
  • Provide detailed variance analyses to explain impact of movements in volume, price, and cost on the P&L versus plan and prior years

Pricing and invoice processing:

  • Work with Pricing team to ensure our system contains up to date pricing and promotional information
  • Processing of monthly invoices ensuring coding is accurate
