Rutherford Cross is delighted to be supporting a large, complex organisation to recruit an Indirect Tax Analyst into its established in-house tax function. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious tax professional to develop their career within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment, offering significant exposure to indirect tax compliance, advisory work, and process improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation and review of indirect tax returns (including VAT), ensuring accuracy and timely submission
  • Support the development and improvement of tax processes, controls, and reporting capabilities
  • Analyse financial data to interpret and assess the organisation’s indirect tax position
  • Provide indirect tax advice and guidance to stakeholders across the business
  • Work closely with finance and operational teams to embed tax awareness and best practice
  • Assist with tax audits, responding to queries and gathering supporting documentation
  • Contribute to ongoing projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the tax function
  • Review transactions and invoices to ensure correct indirect tax treatment

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in an indirect tax role, either in practice or industry
  • Working towards, or interest in pursuing, a professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of VAT and cross-border indirect tax considerations for goods and services
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets
  • Effective communicator with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders
