Rutherford Cross is working with a well-renowned manufacturing business to recruit for the key position of financial accountant. The Financial Accountant supports the delivery and efficient operations of the International Finance function. The role holds key responsibilities for accurate and timely financial reporting. In a busy period with projects on the horizon, the business is looking to grow its current team of 11.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the periodic close for the international business units
- Month end reporting and analytics across Revenue and COGs, Payroll, Bonus & Overheads, ensuring accruals and prepayments are recorded correctly
- Responsible for Balance Sheet reconciliations, ensuring these are accurate and completed on a timely basis
- VAT and other tax compliance for the UK and other EC territories
- Oversee specific areas including Finance Leases and ROU accounting, Fixed Assets & Deferred Service agreements
- Support Line manager on matters relating to legal entities throughout the International Region, including reporting, statutory accounting, audit and tax compliance
- Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of the statutory accounts, accompanying notes and assist with any audit queries
- Finance lead for the systems and applications, identify enhancements with a view to automating processes
- Responsible for key controls to ensure compliance with J-SOX
- Support Internal Audit processes
- Compliant Pro interface for finance
- Supports the maintenance and updates of policies & procedures
- Continuous improvement and refinement of processes to improve efficiencies
- Preparation and submission of ONS returns
- Other general accounting duties
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrable relevant experience in a similar role
- Positively contributes to a high performing team environment
- Takes ownership and focuses on delivering operational excellence within an International, regulated industry
- Critical thinker with a logical and structured approach to problem solving
- Excellent communication and organisational skills, with attention to detail
- Excellent IT skills, with the ability to manipulate large data sets, produce accurate & cohesive reports for management
- Previous experience of statutory accounts beneficial
- Previous experience of MS Dynamics systems beneficial
