An all-encompassing accountant role with a family-owned business on a high growth journey. Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, the accountant will have responsibilities of managing key financial areas within the wider group, including capital expenditure (Capex), cash flow management, leases, and financial planning & analysis (FP&A), covering budgeting and forecasting.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce cash flow reporting and support short-term liquidity planning
- Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and performance insights
- Deliver board-level financial reporting and support strategic decision-making through modelling
- Manage capital expenditure accounting, including fixed asset registers, depreciation, and budget monitoring
- Ensure accurate classification of capital vs operational expenditure and track spend against plan
- Prepare and post month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, and other technical accounting entries
- Support insurance and lease accounting, maintaining accurate records and cost allocations
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations and support audit and year-end reporting processes
- Prepare management accounts, VAT returns, and statutory reporting for multiple entities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including invoicing, payables/receivables, and bank reconciliations
- Manage intercompany transactions and reconciliations, supporting group consolidation reporting
- Provide transaction processing support, including payments, credit cards, and foreign currency adjustments
Key Skills & Competencies
- Professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, or CIMA)
- Strong expertise in cash flow management, budgeting, and forecasting (FP&A)
- Proven experience in Capex and fixed asset accounting
- Good understanding of insurance and lease accounting
- Experience managing full accounting processes for multiple entities
- Strong knowledge of VAT and regulatory compliance
- High attention to detail with strong reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling capability
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
