Rutherford Cross is delighted to be working exclusively with its client to appoint an Assistant Accountant to join a high-performing finance team. The organisation is a well-established and growing manufacturing business as part of a wider international group. Reporting to the Accountant, this is a varied and hands-on role supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. You will play a key part in ensuring accurate financial processing, maintaining strong controls, and supporting the preparation of management information. Key Responsibilities:
- Process, verify, and manage supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payments
- Raise customer invoices and liaise with internal teams to resolve queries
- Process employee expenses and manage petty cash
- Perform regular reconciliations of supplier and customer statements
- Monitor and review aged creditors and debtors, following up on outstanding balances
- Support sales analysis and reporting, working closely with finance and operational teams
- Assist with the preparation of monthly accruals and prepayments
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy
- Support intercompany reconciliations across UK and European entities
- Assist in month-end processes and management accounts preparation
- Maintain the fixed asset register, including additions and disposals
- Manage the finance inbox and respond to queries professionally and efficiently
