The Role
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals to live independently, safely, and with dignity. This is a hands-on and rewarding role suited to individuals who are empathetic, resilient, and committed to maintaining high standards of care.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Person-Centred Care
- Provide tailored support in line with individual care plans
- Promote independence, choice, and inclusion
- Assist with daily living tasks including personal care, meal preparation, and mobility support where required
- Support with medication prompts (in line with training and policy)
- Monitor and report changes in physical or mental health
- Encourage engagement in social and community activities
Behaviour & Emotional Support
- Support individuals who may present behaviours of concern
- Apply de-escalation techniques where required
- Maintain a calm, professional approach in challenging situations
Professional Standards & Compliance
- Follow safeguarding, health & safety, and infection control procedures
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a support or care role (preferred)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A caring, patient, and resilient approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends and nights if required
- Strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities
