Are you an experienced Practice Accountant looking for a role where you can take ownership of a portfolio, manage client relationships and support the development of a wider team? A well-established accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Accounts Assistant Manager to join their team. This is a great opportunity for an experienced practice professional who enjoys a varied role across accounts, tax, VAT and client advisory work, while taking on greater responsibility for junior staff and their own portfolio.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a portfolio of clients, taking ownership of deadlines, workflow and resource planning
- Preparing and reviewing medium-sized sets of statutory accounts, ensuring work is accurate and completed to a high standard
- Preparing and reviewing Corporation Tax, VAT and other compliance work, identifying when specialist tax or VAT support is required
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, providing advice and explaining financial information, variances and technical matters
- Reviewing work completed by junior colleagues, addressing review points and supporting the development of the wider team
- Identifying opportunities for additional services, supporting fee discussions and ensuring work is delivered within agreed scope and budgets
Requirements:
- ACA / ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience with a strong accountancy practice background
- Previous experience managing a portfolio of clients within an accountancy practice
- Strong technical knowledge across accounts, Corporation Tax and VAT, with the ability to identify when additional support is required
