Our client, a highly regarded accountancy and business advisory firm, is looking for an experienced Payroll Senior to join their busy payroll team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to continuous process improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout.
- Administer auto-enrolment pension schemes and ensure all statutory payroll obligations are met.
- Complete all payroll processing tasks through to final submission and reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing excellent service and managing expectations.
- Liaise with HMRC, pension providers and other third parties to resolve payroll queries.
- Act as a first point of contact for payroll legislation, system and client queries within the team.
Requirements
- At least two years' payroll experience, ideally within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau environment.
- Experience using IRIS STAR payroll software.
- Strong end-to-end payroll processing experience, including pensions, statutory payments and benefits.
- The ability to manually calculate payroll where required.
- A CIPP qualification (or working towards one) would be beneficial but is not essential.
