Are you a Finance Assistant with experience in invoicing, looking to make a real impact within a busy finance team? This is a role where your attention to detail and accuracy will be highly valued. We are partnering with a well-established organisation seeking a Finance Assistant to join their team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. You will play a key role in ensuring customer billing and financial processes run smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately, ensuring all charges are correctly allocated to projects, tasks, or customer accounts.
- Verify and approve supplier invoices that correspond to customer billing, ensuring accurate matching and reconciliation.
- Maintain clear documentation of invoicing procedures and assist auditors during process reviews.
- Support front-line staff with raising invoices for non-regular customers, providing guidance and identifying process improvements.
- Assist with finance system updates and enhancements to improve invoicing efficiency.
- Respond to queries from the general finance inbox related to invoices, payments, or account issues.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies related to invoicing and supplier payments.
- Support ad-hoc finance tasks as required.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a finance or accounts role, with a focus on sales invoicing and supplier invoice matching.
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of financial processes, particularly around billing.
- Clear communication skills, able to work with both finance and non-finance colleagues.
- Confident in Excel and comfortable using finance systems.
- Flexible, proactive, and able to contribute from day one.
