Are you an experienced Accounting Professional looking to join a dynamic business and become a number two the Finance Director?
This is an integral role working for a growing SME based in Halstead where you will gain exposure to team management, the management accounting cycle and projects.
As a Finance Manager you will:
- Provide timely and accurate financial updates to the Group Finance Director.
- Supervise and support a small accounts team.
- Maintain and update cash flow forecasts and authorize company payments.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Reconcile WIP, GRNI, bank accounts, credit cards, and HP; investigate variances.
- Manage fixed assets register and apply correct depreciation rates.
- Oversee finance software closures, backups, and resolve system issues.
- Handle VAT returns, payroll reconciliations, and intercompany balances.
- Coordinate bi-monthly stocktakes and analyze results.
- Support quarter-end and year-end processes, including audit prep and budget assistance.
- Maintain financial coding structures and perform HMRC reporting (e.g., PSA, P11D).
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed.
As a Finance Manager, you will need:
- Part Qualified or qualified by experience
- Knowledge of Access Supply Chain and Sage is an advantage
- Ability to drive (due to job location)
- Team player
- Good knowledge of Excel/Word/Office software
