Are you an experienced Accounts Assistant available at short notice and looking for your next contract opportunity? We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join a well-established UK organisation on a temporary basis. This role will support a busy finance function, with a strong focus on purchase ledger and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) processing, ensuring accurate and timely financial administration during a peak period. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a fast-paced environment while supporting a high-performing finance team.
Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices accurately and in line with internal procedures
- Assisting with weekly and monthly payment runs
- Matching purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices to ensure accuracy
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving queries in a timely manner
- Processing subcontractor payments in line with CIS regulations
- Completing CIS verification checks and maintaining accurate subcontractor records
- Supporting monthly CIS submissions and ensuring compliance with HMRC requirements
- Assisting with month-end processes, including accruals and reporting requirements
Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar transactional finance role
- Strong understanding of purchase ledger processes and reconciliations
- Experience working with CIS (Construction Industry Scheme) is essential
- Good Excel skills and general IT proficiency
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and hit the ground running in a fast-paced environment
