The client we are working with is a dynamic firm of chartered accountants, business management experts and corporate and private client advisors. They have a mixed portfolio of clients which range from high-end restaurants and luxury property to global corporations and the creative industry.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of accounts preparation, including reviewing financial statements and the work of both in-house and offshore team members.
- Guide and support junior team members by providing clear feedback and updates to senior managers and directors.
- Delegate tasks effectively, giving clear instructions and managing team workloads.
- Monitor job schedules to ensure deadlines and targets are consistently met.
- Handle client issues as they arise and assist team members with routine client matters.
- Step in to prepare accounts when needed.
- Support management and other ad hoc reporting as required.
As an Assistant Accounts Manager, you will need:
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- At least 5 years of experience working in accountancy, ideally within a public practice environment.
- Proficient in a range of accounting software, including CaseWare Accounts, QuickBooks, Xero, and Sage.
- Solid technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and risk understanding, with the judgment to know when to elevate complex issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive matters with care and discretion.
- Proficient in IT and confident using accounting and business software.
- Sharp attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy.
- Committed, adaptable, and team-oriented, willing to support colleagues, delegate effectively, and take ownership of tasks and projects.
