A Dorset based food manufacturing company are looking to recruit an experienced multi skilled Maintenance Shift Team Leader for their production facility based in the Poole / Bournemouth area. As a Maintenance Team Leader you will lead and manage your shift of engineers who provide engineering support to the production area and are responsible for reactive and proactive maintenance of plant, equipment, and any auxiliary systems.

Role:

  • Multi skilled with electrical and mechanical knowledge
  • Panama Shifts – Days and Nights (12 hour) 5.15 – 17.15 and 17.15 – 5.15
  • Opportunity to work in a modern manufacturer
  • Approx 70% on the tools and 30% office for paperwork and reports etc

Key responsibilities of Maintenance Team Leader:

  • Assist team to work towards maximum plant and equipment efficiency so downtime is minimised
  • Ensure planned engineering tasks are delivered on time and in full
  • Ensure good repair / manufacturing practices and procedures are followed
  • Ensure completion of planned maintenance documents / CMMS
  • Work closely with production staff to achieve daily targets
  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives to drive efficiency and process improvements
  • Ensure all work completed by engineering team is documented in a daily shift report
  • Monitor, and approve time sheets for the team and perform general HR duties such as return to work interviews, investigations and individual 121 performance reviews.

Experience and skills required of Maintenance Team Leader:

  • Qualified maintenance engineer with C&G's or NVQ Level 3 or ideally ONC / HNC level
  • Multi skilled, mechanical and electrical skills / experience
  • Apprenticeship trained
  • Team Leader experience or good experience to show ready for the next stage in career
  • Proactive attitude to solving issues and supporting production
  • Manufacturing / production experience required
