Join a business built on relationships. At Wagstaff Recruitment & Careers Coaching, we have been helping engineering and manufacturing organisations find great people since 2010. Our engineering contract division continues to grow year after year, supplying skilled Maintenance Engineers to food, drink and packaging manufacturers across the UK. The demand for experienced engineers continues to increase. Whilst the engineering skills shortage plays a part, we believe our growth is also down to something much simpler, the relationships we build.
Some of our clients have partnered with Wagstaff since we were established in 2010. Others have continued relationships that began with our Founder, Ruth Forster, during her recruitment career in the 1990s. Those long standing partnerships reflect the trust we have built through consistently delivering an honest, professional and personal service.
As our contract division continues to expand, we are looking for another Recruitment Partner to join our team.
The Role
Working alongside Natalie Taylor and Jamie Lee Vedel, you will help source and support contract Maintenance Engineers working on manufacturing sites throughout the UK. At Wagstaff, we believe successful recruitment is built on trusted relationships. Every day you'll be helping manufacturing clients find the engineering support they need, whilst helping skilled engineers secure rewarding contract opportunities.
Every day is different. You could be:
- Speaking with Maintenance Engineers about their next contract opportunity.
- Building relationships with engineers who may become future contractors.
- Responding to urgent client requirements and identifying the right engineer to keep production running.
- Matching engineers' skills, experience and availability to client requirements.
- Keeping in regular contact with contractors throughout their assignments, ensuring they are well supported.
- Working closely with manufacturing clients to provide a responsive, reliable service when they need engineering support.
- Working with the wider Wagstaff team to deliver the high standards of service our clients and contractors have come to expect.
This isn't a traditional Monday to Friday, nine to five recruitment role. Our clients operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and our engineers work a variety of shift patterns. That means some of the best conversations happen early in the morning, during the evening or after an engineer has finished their shift. Whilst you won't be working around the clock, you will need the flexibility to speak with people outside of traditional office hours.
About You
At Wagstaff, we are far more interested in your attitude, communication skills and ability to build relationships than the industry you have worked in. Previous recruitment experience would be an advantage, as would experience within temporary staffing or manufacturing, but neither is essential.
What matters most is that you:
- Enjoy talking to people.
- Build trust and rapport naturally over the telephone.
- Have excellent listening skills.
- Are organised and dependable.
- Can manage several conversations and priorities at the same time.
- Take pride in delivering a high level of customer service.
- Want to learn and develop within a growing business.
We can teach you recruitment. What we cannot teach is genuine curiosity about people, a willingness to learn and the ability to build lasting relationships.
What We Offer
- Flexible working hours.
- Hybrid working following your initial training.
- Ongoing training and support.
- Opportunity to become part of a respected and growing engineering recruitment business.
Interested?
Because this role is built around conversations and relationships, we'd much rather speak with you than simply receive a CV. You're welcome to send us your CV, but part of this job is seeking people out and starting conversations. So we'd encourage you to do exactly that. Seek out our Founder, Ruth Forster, get in touch directly and have an informal conversation about the opportunity.
