A successful food manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a 4 on 4 off rotating Days & Nights shift pattern. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a profitable, stable, and growing business that continues to invest in its people, site, and brand.
As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll work alongside two other Engineers on shift to ensure safety compliance, effective workload prioritisation, and consistently high production standards. You'll play a key role in reducing downtime, improving processes, and supporting continuous improvement across the site. The company is open to individuals who show strong potential and have transferable skills from other sectors or roles. Some of the company's most successful recent recruits have come from backgrounds such as domestic/commercial electrics or material processing sites.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead, guide and mentor your shift team to achieve operational excellence
- Deliver effective maintenance to ensure consistent, high-quality production
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime
- Monitor processes and equipment, reporting variances and taking corrective action
- Respond swiftly to unplanned breakdowns and maintenance events
- Support engineering projects, installations, and equipment modifications
Experience and skills required:
- Qualified Maintenance Engineer with City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3
- Multi-skilled with both mechanical and electrical expertise (electrical bias preferred)
- Apprenticeship trained (ideally)
- Proactive problem-solver who supports production and continuous improvement
- Experience in food manufacturing would be advantageous
