A leading electrical engineering company that designs, installs, and maintains advanced electrical equipment is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join its established design team in Rugby. As a Senior Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in projects for the design, manufacture, and repair of complex electrical machinery used within the power generation sector. You’ll work on technically challenging, bespoke projects that push innovation and engineering excellence.
The Senior Design Engineer will produce detailed 3D CAD designs and drawings, carry out stress and structural analysis (including FEA), and take a lead role in problem‑solving for machinery upgrades, retrofits, and failures. You’ll also provide support to tendering and project management teams, and may attend client meetings during key project phases. You’ll be joining a highly skilled and collaborative team, with access to specialist training and further qualifications as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to professional development. About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical design or related engineering role
- Strong understanding of machinery design and manufacturing principles

- Qualified to HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Analytical, proactive, and eager to develop within a senior role
