Contract Maintenance Engineer
Food Manufacturing | Day, Night & Weekend Shifts | Leicestershire
We’re recruiting Contract Maintenance Engineers to join our established team, supporting busy food manufacturing sites across the region.
The role will involve providing engineering support to production teams, carrying out reactive and planned maintenance and helping to keep plant and equipment safe, reliable and production-ready — with minimal downtime.

The Role:
- Multi-skilled Contract Maintenance Engineer (electrically biased)
- Reactive and proactive maintenance across plant, equipment and auxiliary systems
- Support production to minimise downtime and maximise efficiency
- Ensure planned engineering tasks are completed on time and in full
- Maintain high standards of repair and manufacturing practice
- Complete planned maintenance documentation and CMMS records
- Contribute to cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Qualified Maintenance Engineer (C&G, NVQ Level 3, ideally ONC/HNC)
- Apprentice trained
- Multi-skilled with mechanical and electrical experience
- Food or FMCG manufacturing experience essential
- Proactive approach to fault finding and supporting production
Working Patterns
- Ad-hoc 12hr day, night and weekend shifts
Pay Rates:
- PAYE direct with Wagstaff Recruitment – £27.50 to £30.00 per hour
- PAYE through our accredited payroll partner – £35.00 to £40.00 per hour
- Shifts Inside IR35
