Ruth Hayman Trust awards grants to support education of adults who have come to the UK, speak English as a second language and have difficulty paying for their studies. We seek a new Treasurer to help us maintain our financial records.
What difference will you make?
Having accurate and up to date financial records gives us the opportunity to support as many of our applicants as possible, so our treasurer is a vital part of us continuing our work.
What are we looking for?
- This role would suit an individual who has a passion for supporting individuals facing hardship, including those seeking sanctuary in the UK.
- Is proficient in Excel.
- Is able to commit sufficient time to fulfil the core responsibilities of the role.
- Has previous experience in a Treasurer (or similar) role.
What will you be doing?
Following the resignation of our current treasurer we seek someone to replace her. We are a small grant-making organisation run entirely by our team of trustees, so the treasurer role is vital to ensure we understand how much we have available to give out to our applicants. The people we support are primarily sanctuary seekers with very little resources or cultural capital in the UK; we are often their only source of funding to help them rebuild their life through education. We have improved and centralised our processes over the past few years to help us work more effectively. However, there is still more to do and we're hoping a new trustee will bring thoughts on how we may improve further.
