The Ruth Hayman Trust provides support, through grants, to help people who have come to settle in the UK pay for education. We need administrative help to support the Chair and the trust's activities.
Responsibilities:
- The Honorary Secretary will help with governance and compliance, strategic planning, coordination of activities and servicing the Trust through preparing and distributing papers for meetings, keeping minutes and handling communications, particularly by email, where required.
- Help with grant applications, publicity and fundraising may be needed.
- We are a board of, currently, 13 trustees. As a very small charity with no employees, all of the work of the Trust is carried out by the trustees (along with a small number of volunteers).
- The board meets in full three times a year.
- We need a Secretary to help us keep on top of correspondence and to minute our meetings.
Qualifications:
- A commitment to the aims and values of the Ruth Hayman Trust.
- Administration experience.
- Experience of working or volunteering in a team.
- A good command of spoken and written English.
- Experience of arranging meetings and taking minutes.
- Basic IT knowledge - sending emails, formulating documents, taking minutes of meetings, saving and filing all documentation.
