Russian-English. com is expanding its Arabic desk and is hiring an Arabic-English interpreter and assistant based in London.
We provide interpreting, translation and concierge support for private clients, law firms and corporate teams across London, Geneva and Dubai.
The work
Court and tribunal interpreting — Crown Court, magistrates' court, immigration and asylum tribunals.
Police station attendance (PAIT) and solicitor conferences.
Legal and certified document translation, witness statements, legalisation and apostille support.
Business meetings, negotiations, conferences and exhibitions.
Medical appointments in Harley Street clinics and NHS settings.
Client accompaniment and assistant support across London.
Consecutive, simultaneous and whispered (chuchotage) interpreting, on site or video remote (VRI).
Native or near-native Arabic and fluent English.
Modern Standard Arabic (MSA); a Gulf/Khaliji, Levantine, Egyptian or Maghrebi dialect is an advantage.
Proven interpreting experience.
Right to work in the UK.
Discretion — comfortable with confidential material and NDAs.
DPSI — Level 6 Diploma in Public Service Interpreting, Law pathway (held or in progress).
NRPSI registration or eligibility.
PAIT — Police Approved Interpreter and Translator.
CIOL or ITI membership.
Enhanced DBS check.
Terms
Freelance / assignment basis. London-based, with UK-wide and occasional international work. Rates discussed on application.
