An opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Senior Health & Safety Manager to join our collaborative and professional organisation as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. This pivotal role is responsible for leading and promoting the highest standards of Health and Safety performance across the business, driving a positive safety culture, ensuring compliance, and supporting continuous improvement in collaboration with operational teams, clients, stakeholders, and supply chain partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintaining and promoting the highest standards of Health and Safety performance across the organisation.
- Providing expert advice, guidance, and support to colleagues to ensure they effectively fulfil their Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant UK Health & Safety legislation, regulations, and industry best practice.
- Conducting site inspections and internal audits, building strong relationships with project teams and stakeholders while assuring that Health & Safety processes remain effective.
- Leading external ISO audits and coordinating the timely close‑out of audit findings and observations.
- Supporting and coordinating the investigation of incidents and near misses, ensuring lessons learned are identified, communicated and embedded within the business.
- Identifying training and development requirements and facilitating the delivery of relevant Health & Safety training and coaching initiatives.
- Preparing formal reports, presentations and performance metrics for Directors and stakeholders.
- Ensuring lessons learned from audits, inspections, incidents, and monitoring activities are incorporated into management systems to support continuous improvement.
- Monitoring legislative and regulatory developments to ensure ongoing compliance of management systems and business practices.
- Developing, maintaining, and strengthening client relationships through effective engagement and support.
- Collaborating with supply chain partners to develop and implement safe and efficient project delivery solutions.
- Actively supporting candidates participating in the award‑winning Russell WBHO Building Student Programme.
Key Skills and Attributes
- Significant experience in a Health & Safety leadership role within the construction industry.
- Strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation, standards and management systems.
- The ability to promote a positive Health, Safety and Environmental Culture through visible leadership and engagement.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong leadership capabilities, including the confidence to challenge, problem‑solve, influence decision‑making and motivate teams.

Required Qualifications and Certifications
- CSCS Professional Competence Card.
- NEBOSH General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate.
- Chartered Membership of IOSH (CMIOSH), or be actively working towards Chartered status.
