A leading global consumer platform is looking for an experienced Consumer Communications Lead to drive media strategy and culturally relevant storytelling across key EMEA markets, with a particular focus on the UK, France, and Germany.
This role sits within an international communications team supporting a fast-moving, community-driven digital brand with a strong presence across lifestyle, culture, entertainment, and online communities. The ideal candidate will understand how internet culture, consumer behaviour, and media trends intersect to create impactful earned media opportunities.
We’re especially interested in candidates coming from consumer-facing platforms, lifestyle brands, streaming, marketplace, creator economy, or digitally native environments.
Responsibilities- Lead consumer communications activity across priority EMEA markets
- Develop proactive and reactive media strategies tied to cultural moments, trends, and audience behaviours
- Build and maintain strong relationships with UK consumer, lifestyle, entertainment, and culture media
- Create compelling narratives, press materials, campaign messaging, briefing documents, and thought leadership content
- Identify emerging conversations, community trends, and social-first moments that can translate into earned media coverage
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams across marketing, partnerships, product, and regional communications
- Support launches, campaigns, creator/influencer collaborations, and brand reputation initiatives
- Manage external PR agencies and coordinate activity across European markets
- Use audience insights and cultural trends to shape storytelling opportunities
- 8+ years’ experience within consumer communications, brand PR, media relations, or integrated communications
- Strong understanding of the UK consumer media landscape with established UK press relationships
- Experience working with consumer-facing digital brands, platforms, lifestyle companies, entertainment, marketplaces, or community-led products
- Exposure to European communications activity, ideally including France and/or Germany
- Proven experience delivering integrated campaigns spanning PR, social, partnerships, influencer, and earned media
- Strong storytelling instincts with awareness of online culture, trends, and consumer communities
- Comfortable operating within fast-paced, global, and highly collaborative environments
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, agencies, and concurrent campaigns
- Experience with creator-led or social-first campaigns
- Exposure to data-driven or insight-led storytelling
- Additional European language skills (German or French beneficial)
- Experience supporting culturally relevant consumer brands with strong community engagement
