We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Finance Business Partner to join a major public sector organisation on a long-term contract basis. This is a high-profile role where you will act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, providing financial leadership, commercial insight, and strategic support to ensure effective decision-making and successful delivery of organisational objectives.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Finance Business Partner, you will build strong relationships across the organisation, influencing senior leaders and budget holders while driving financial performance, value for money, and long-term sustainability. You will play a key role in business planning, forecasting, budgeting, business case development, and financial governance, while leading and developing finance professionals within your team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and accountable leads.
  • Act as the primary finance partner, providing strategic financial guidance and challenge.
  • Influence decision-making by delivering clear financial insight and business analysis.
  • Lead financial planning activities including budgeting, forecasting, procurement planning, and variance analysis.
  • Review, challenge, and support business plans to ensure affordability, sustainability, and alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Scrutinise and support business case development, ensuring value for money and robust risk assessment.
  • Collaborate with finance and operational teams to ensure leadership teams receive accurate and timely financial information.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across financial processes and service delivery.
  • Support resource planning and capacity management activities.
  • Promote financial awareness and commercial understanding across the business.
  • Lead, coach, motivate, and develop finance team members to achieve objectives and support career growth.
