Clinical Development Director – Cardiovascular or Neuroscience

📍 Remote or Hybrid (UK-based) | ⏳ 18-Month Contract

We’re hiring an experienced Clinical Development Director to join a global biopharmaceutical organization on a long-term contract. This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role supporting global clinical programs in cardiovascular, metabolism, or neuroscience therapeutic areas.

About the Role

As a Clinical Development Director, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the clinical strategy across multiple trial phases (I–IV). You’ll work cross-functionally with medical, regulatory, data, and safety teams to ensure high-quality clinical execution and scientific integrity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead clinical development deliverables for assigned global programs or trials
  • Develop and review clinical trial protocols, study reports, and regulatory documents
  • Collaborate with data management and stats teams on data quality and interpretation
  • Contribute to safety review activities and regulatory submissions
  • Represent clinical development in interactions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior clinical team members
  • Support inspection readiness and contribute to scientific publications and presentations

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in a senior clinical development role (e.g., Clinical Development Director, CDMD, Clinical Program Director)
  • 7+ years of experience in clinical research or drug development
  • Strong background in cardiovascular, metabolism, or neuroscience therapeutic areas
  • Proven experience in global clinical trial strategy, execution, and regulatory engagement
  • Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare field (PhD, PharmD, or MD preferred)
  • Strong understanding of GCP, protocol design, data review, and safety oversight
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
