About the Role

We are looking for an experienced

EMEA Payroll Specialist to join the HR team in Liverpool. The successful candidate will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of multiple country payrolls across the EMEA region , acting as a key point of contact and subject matter expert for the payrolls they support.

You will work closely with payroll vendors, HR, Finance, Compliance, HR Technology and other stakeholders to ensure payroll data is accurate, compliant and processed within agreed timelines.

Experience supporting payrolls across

Nordics, Austria, Belgium or Israel would be advantageous, although experience with other EMEA countries will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process and manage multiple EMEA country payrolls accurately and on time.
  • Ensure payroll processing complies with relevant local legislation, taxation and regulatory requirements .
  • Act as the first point of contact for EMEA payroll matters and resolve complex payroll queries.
  • Work closely with external payroll vendors, providing accurate payroll inputs and validating data before submission.
  • Investigate payroll discrepancies, anomalies and employee queries and ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Interpret and apply payroll-related policies covering leave, disability, allowances, one-time payments, garnishments and other payroll adjustments.
  • Support payroll audits, reconciliations, compliance activities and internal/external reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with the EMEA Payroll Manager to implement them.
  • Support payroll projects and system enhancements, including defining requirements and performing

User Acceptance Testing (UAT) .

  • Maintain payroll calendars, processing schedules, procedures and user documentation.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, HR Technology, HRBPs, Benefits, Service Centre and Compliance teams to ensure payroll data and integrations are accurate.
  • Support the Head of EMEA Payroll and Payroll Manager with other payroll-related activities and projects.

Requirements

Essential Experience

2–4 years of payroll experience .

  • Proven experience processing end-to-end payroll for multiple countries .
  • Experience working with EMEA payroll processes.
  • Good understanding of payroll legislation, taxation and compliance.
  • Experience working with payroll vendors and external stakeholders.
  • Experience using payroll and HR systems .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict payroll deadlines.
  • Strong communication and customer-service skills.
  • Experience supporting payroll audits, reconciliations or compliance activities.
