Do you have experience as a Principal Designer?Do you have CDM / Construction Knowledge?Are you looking for a flexible role with a leading consultancy?Then this role is for you.Job OverviewWe're seeking a Principal Designer/Safety Specialist to join our dedicated and growing team. You'll play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are delivered in compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations (CDM15), ensuring that designs are safe to build and construction is carried out safely on site. You will be instrumental in embedding health and safety into the preconstruction and construction process and ensuring full compliance with CDM15.Responsibilities• Production of relevant CDM documentation and being the go to on CDM H&S matter for the project teams.• Writing pre-construction information reports and compilation of the information pack for tender.• Compiling the Design Risk Registers in conjunction with the design team• Assessing contractor risk assessments and method statements and the Principal Contractors construction phase plan.• Writing to clients to discharge their duties under CDM15• Play an active part in internal and external stakeholder meetings, offering CDM/H&S advice during the full project lifecycle• Collating the health and safety file• Supporting the project team in managing construction design risk, undertaking site visits & audits to provide advice on health and safety improvements and best practice.• Compiling Site Inspection Reports for the project team• Supporting the delivery of the CDM Principal Designer role and the Site Safety Inspector Role. Driving improvements in health and safety at all stages from pre-construction to construction.Qualifications / Knowledge• NEBOSH (construction) qualification, construction related degree, HND or HNC• Hold a CSCS card• Knowledge and understanding of health and safety in construction and CDM15 regulations• Understanding of the role of Principal Designer (CDM)• Knowledge and understanding of the construction process, RIBA stages and the flow of information in the Principal Designer work-stream• Be a member of the Association of Project Safety and IOSH• A full driving licence and the ability to travel within the UK to different client sites.Important Information: We endeavour to process your personal data in a fair and transparent manner.
