Financial Controller Role Overview:

Oversee accounting activities for the company, covering financial reporting, cash flow forecasting, balance sheet analysis, and budget preparation. Act as the main liaison for annual and periodic financial audits. Focus on strengthening controls, enhancing efficiency, and promoting cost and waste reduction.

Financial Controller Job Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the accounting function, ensuring strong financial controls are in place across the organisation.
  2. Provide financial support to the Finance Director.
  3. Manage the preparation of accurate monthly and annual financial reports for key business entities.
  4. Handle the timely submission of consolidated bank account reports and maintain up-to-date cash flow forecasts.
  5. Verify the accuracy of supplier payments and ensure compliance with financial agreements.
  6. Lead the annual audit process and coordinate periodic stock and debtor audits.
  7. Monitor labour and overhead costs, addressing any budget variances.
  8. Deliver ad-hoc financial reports to support management decision-making.
  9. Develop, motivate, and upskill the team, establishing clear performance targets.
  10. Promote company values and lead initiatives that drive positive business improvements.

Financial Controller Required Attributes:

  1. ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
  2. 2+ years’ experience in an FC position within a Manufacturing business.
  3. Commercially focused, with a strong ability to impact business decision-making.
  4. Experienced in managing and leading teams.
