A well-established and growing Merseyside law firm is seeking an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor with LAA Crime Category Supervisor status to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity to take on a key supervisory role within a reputable criminal department offering flexibility, development, and long-term stability.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Manage and supervise criminal cases in line with the 2025 Standard Crime Contract
- Attend court hearings and represent clients at both the police station and in court
- Conduct advocacy and handle case preparation and management
- Participate in administration, billing, and compliance tasks using Proclaim case management system
- Work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends, to cover police station attendance
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years PQE in criminal law
- Duty Solicitor qualified for both court and police station
- LAA Crime Category Supervisor status
- Excellent knowledge of criminal law and procedure
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
- Proficient IT skills and familiarity with case management systems
- A commitment to high standards of professional service and client care
Higher Rights of Audience (HCA) status is desirable but not essential.
