Location: Greater Manchester

Hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm - Monday to Friday (1 Hour Lunch)

Salary: Negotiable depending upon experience.

We have a vacancy for a Solicitor/CILEX with at least 3 years’ experience. The STEP accreditation is desirable. While based at our Bolton office, the successful candidate may be required to work at our other branches when necessary and therefore must have a car available for business use.

The position will involve developing opportunities in the area by networking and identifying additional services for existing clients throughout the department. We are specifically looking for someone with knowledge and working experience of advising and preparing Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate. There are opportunities for progression for a candidate who can work independently and is self-motivated and ambitious. Ongoing training, guidance and support from the team is provided.

Job Role Duties:

  • To run a caseload and effectively maintain and housekeep the case management system
  • To provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to our clients
  • Working as part of a team dealing with elderly clients and grieving families
  • Attending nursing homes and at the private homes of elderly clients
  • To be able to take instructions for Wills, Powers of Attorney, Probate/Administration of Estates and Court of Protection
  • To be able to draft documents i.e. Wills and Powers of Attorney
  • To be able to submit applications to the Probate Registry
  • To ensure any request concerning a work-related matter is undertaken within the agreed timeframe
  • Filing and the accurate and complete maintenance of files
  • Accurately prepare routine correspondence ready for signature
  • Collating reports and documents, photocopying/scanning as appropriate
  • To meet all deadlines within the agreed timeframe
  • To be proactive with regard to your own career development
  • To develop transferable skills across the business
  • Ensuring that this key role is valued by the team and the clients
