Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm – Monday to Friday (1 hour lunch)

Job Overview

We have a vacancy for an experienced Paralegal to work in our busy Probate Department based at our Middleton office. The role is ideal for someone looking to develop their career with a view to completing a CILEX/Solicitor apprenticeship or a Training Contract.

Duties

  • Run a caseload and effectively maintain and housekeep the case management system
  • Provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to clients
  • Work as part of a team dealing with elderly clients and grieving families
  • Attend nursing homes and the private homes of elderly clients
  • Take initial instructions for Wills and Powers of Attorney
  • Draft documents such as Wills and Powers of Attorney
  • Ensure any request concerning a work‑related matter is undertaken within the agreed timeframe
  • File and accurately maintain files
  • Accurately prepare routine correspondence ready for signature
  • Collate reports and documents, photocopy or scan as appropriate
  • Meet all deadlines within the agreed timeframe
  • Be proactive regarding your own career development
  • Develop transferable skills across the business
  • Ensure this key role is valued by the team and clients
