The predicted salary is between 35000 - 45000 Β£ per year.
This position provides operational support and services representing Global Operations & Data Management, supporting successful outcomes for both internal and external clients. The position focuses mainly on index data as well as funds, products and account reference data. We aim to provide accurate and timely delivery of data and reports to internal stakeholders and clients. In addition, the role will support data research and controls, design, development, and implementation of enhancements and opportunities. The role will also support corporate initiatives, including project leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Client Service
- Front line contact for technology and data delivery support issues related to team activities (possibly including after-hours support).
- Providing data and business expertise to internal and external Russell clients.
- Working with a diverse group of internal colleagues, at all organisational levels, across all business lines globally.
- Providing accurate and timely responses to requests by utilising analytical skills and relationships.
- Ensuring timely and accurate delivery of data, gathering requirements for new deliveries, and designing solutions in the form of scheduled reports and data feeds.
- Serving as an expert regarding data operations support for onboarding new accounts and indices.
- Supporting onboarding processes.
- Supporting Business Continuity processes.
- Ensuring effective and up to date data management practices, including accurate data held within the database(s).
- Working with the vendor(s), data providers, and Russell IT associates to manage any data changes required due to errors, revisions, etc.
- Monitoring incoming data to ensure Russell Investments receives timely delivery and accurate data.
- Identifying, researching and explaining variances in data and calculating results such as performance in conjunction with other global data management associates.
- Conducting data analysis when necessary to determine root cause of data inconsistencies.
- Creating and maintaining documentation like work flow diagrams, processes, and desk notes.
- Acquiring and automating additional data sources (internal and external) as needed to improve operating efficiency or support business/product needs.
- Networking with other key data management associates globally/across Russell, converting and implementing common best practices wherever possible.
Requirements and qualifications
- Relevant BSC/BA (Mathematics / Economics or similar) or equivalent experience.
- Data Operations Analyst experience gained from a buy-side shop and/or Middle office service provider is desired.
- Experience with data management.
- SQL, VBA, Excel and Python experience required.
- Experience managing operational data stores, data warehouses, and data marts.
- Used to effectively working with others within and across the networked organisation.
- Ability to work with tight deadlines, strong time-management skills.
- Able to handle and complete multiple projects occurring at the same time.
- Technology skills: including systems implementation, data manipulation, data feed support, SIT and UAT.
- Knowledge of various file/ transmission formats and technologies is required, including XML, flat file formats, FTP and ETL technologies.
