Our client is an innovative, private equity-backed technology business. Its proprietary technology helps electricity network operators and energy market participants improve grid resilience and integrate renewable energy more effectively. Following significant investment to support international growth, the business is entering its next phase of commercial expansion and operational maturity.

The business is seeking an experienced interim Chief Financial Officer to provide strong financial leadership during a 12-month period. Working closely with the CEO, Board and investors, you will ensure robust financial governance, deliver insightful board reporting and lead the finance function through an important stage of growth.

Leading a finance team of three, you will strengthen financial controls, improve reporting and forecasting, support commercial decision-making and provide the leadership needed to develop a high-performing finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the CEO, Board and investors.
  • Lead and develop a finance team of three, including FP&A.
  • Deliver high-quality board and investor reporting.
  • Strengthen financial planning, forecasting and management information.
  • Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance.
  • Support the business through its next phase of growth and investment.

The Person:

You will be an experienced CFO with a track record of operating in private equity-backed technology or high-growth businesses. You will combine strategic capability with a hands-on approach, be comfortable leading and developing finance teams, and have excellent communication skills with the credibility to operate confidently at Board level. Experience of working within technology, SaaS, data, infrastructure or energy-related businesses would be advantageous but is not essential.
