An established European payments provider is seeking a senior fractional technology and operations leader to support its UK expansion and FCA authorisation process. The business is building its UK operational infrastructure and requires an experienced executive to help strengthen operational controls, technology capability, governance, and regulatory readiness ahead of launch. Expected to be a 1–2 day per week engagement.
Role & Responsibilities
- The Fractional CTO will provide strategic leadership across technology, operations and delivery during a critical stage of the company’s UK growth journey.
- Working closely with founders, advisers, and senior stakeholders, the role will focus on operational scalability, systems readiness, governance, and regulatory alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the organisation through the FCA authorisation and UK market entry process.
- Lead operational and technology readiness across payments infrastructure and customer operations.
- Strengthen governance, operational controls, resilience, and reporting frameworks.
- Help develop scalable systems, processes, and operational procedures aligned to FCA expectations.
- Oversee third-party technology providers, integrations, and operational delivery.
- Support business continuity, risk management, and information security initiatives.
- Work closely with senior leadership on growth planning and operational strategy.
