Base pay range

40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Salary Range: £56,523 - £64,124 per annum

(Starting salary will be subject to relevant experience and qualification)

This post will be based onsite in Nailsworth, Gloucestershire with requirements to travel regularly to Trust sites around the UK.

Ruskin Mill Land Trust holds responsibility for land and building assets which it leases to Ruskin Mill Trust. By partnering with Ruskin Mill Trust, we help create lively centres for special needs education, arts and culture, festivals, social enterprise and community. As well as buildings, we help protect the landscape with woodlands, farms, market gardens and a fish farm that is reputed to be the oldest in the country, all looked after through holistic, biodynamic agriculture.

Ruskin Mill Land Trust (The Trust) and Ruskin Mill Trust (RMT) are separate, sister charities drawing their inspiration from common insights – Ruskin, Morris and Steiner. RMT (and its subsidiaries) operates a number of schools, colleges and provisions around the country, utilising practical land and craft activities to support the development of work and life skills in young people with autistic spectrum conditions and other learning differences. As a key member of the Ruskin Mill Land Trust team, the post holder will be responsible for:

  • The stewardship of the Trust’s estates and assets
  • Management and effective utilisation of all of the Trust’s property having regards to the environment, aesthetics, financial values, town planning and the appropriate utilisation of the buildings and land.
  • Ensure that its property assets are used and maintained appropriately. The Trust owns a variety of properties throughout the country which include farms and woodland, listed buildings, inner city former industrial properties and a number of houses.
  • Liaise and work closely with the Ruskin Mill Trust professional services such as Trust Head of Property, Trust Biodynamic Land Manager, Architects, Environmental and Energy Manager and Ruskin Mill Land Trust’s Legal Team, Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director to ensure the development of medium/long term strategic plans for the development and management of the Trust’s properties and land.

To undertake this role you should be and have:

  • A Chartered Surveyor or Registered Architect
  • Experience in property and estate management
