Starting salary will be subject to qualifications and experience.

We are looking to appoint a Learning Assistant to offer specific and specialist educational support to the Green Woodwork Tutor in the delivery of a therapeutic education programme and work experience to a number of students. The students benefit from an extensive range of nutritional, therapeutic and medical support at each college that is reflected in the college sessions. You must be able to instil enthusiasm and enjoyment into the learning process in such a way that can lead to increased self‑esteem and enhanced engagement in learning.

Main Duties:

  • Assist and work closely with the Green Woodwork Tutor in session to progress students towards their short, medium and long‑term outcomes.
  • Assist the Green Woodwork Tutor in planning sessions to differentiate for the range of students under that tutor’s remit in order to progress each student educationally as well as to mitigate safeguarding risk.
  • Communicate consistently, openly and frequently with relevant parties in helping students to progress educationally towards their targets.
  • Embed PSTE within all lesson plans to address the differing student needs in each session.
