We are seeking a licensing officer to join our team which is responsible for alcohol, gambling, taxis, street trading, pavement licensing, scrap metal dealers, animal licensing, mobile homes / campsites, sex establishments and charitable collections. The successful candidate will help regulate the licensing regimes through inspections and investigations, as well as processing applications.
The role is based at the Council Offices in Farnborough, working 4.5 hours a day Monday – Friday, between 8.30am & 5pm. The role includes working out in the local area and where required some work outside of normal office hours. The successful candidate will give effect to a range of enforcement options, attend hearings, reviews, give evidence in court and help ensure that our licensing policies and objectives are achieved.
The role will also include the processing of licence applications and helping applicants, interested parties and other regulatory agencies to achieve appropriate licensing outcomes. There will be the opportunity to be involved with developing processes, procedures and policies, as we look to continually improve the service we provide.
We are looking for a flexible, pragmatic, team player with excellent communication, interpersonal skills and attention to detail, who has the ability to work with technical legislation to provide a high quality, customer-focused service in a flexible manner.
