Salary: Grade 3, Points 5-6 (Actual Salary £15,369) FTE £26,634 - £27,058

25 hours per week for 38 weeks per year plus 3 Professional Learning Days. Monday to Friday 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive individual who can communicate with students, staff, and parents in a positive and supportive manner. In this busy office environment, you will play an important role in providing a high-quality, professional service to students, visitors, parents, and external agencies.

Main duties and responsibilities:

  • Deliver a welcoming, high-quality reception service, greeting and assisting parents, visitors, and external professionals with warmth and professionalism.
  • Manage face-to-face enquiries and telephone conversations confidently, ensuring everyone feels supported and well-informed.
  • Ensure all visitors are warmly welcomed, signed in safely, and directed to the appropriate person or area.
  • Handle incoming calls efficiently, recording accurate messages and passing information on promptly.
  • Prioritise urgent enquiries and respond to all communication in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Maintain a calm, organised, and friendly reception environment that supports the smooth running of the office.
  • Support team operations during colleague absences to maintain continuity and ensure deadlines are met.

This post will involve contact with vulnerable groups (children, young people and/or adults) and is therefore exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and subject to an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (DBS) Disclosure check. This exemption means that shortlisted applicants for this post will be required to declare all criminal convictions, cautions, reprimands, and bind-overs both spent and unspent in their application, before interview and regardless of the passage of time.
