Our client is a vibrant, successful and growing family business within the agri / horticulture sector in Northern Ireland. As an independent, family run business, they have carved out a successful niche as a supplier of choice. Due to ongoing expansion, a superb opportunity has arisen for an experienced Packing/Production Supervisor to play a key role in the current and future growth and success of the business. This will be both a hands-on role and as such the successful applicant will be equally comfortable in front of the owners and production/packing staff. Excellent communication skills will be essential as will the desire to build a long-term career with a company that will reward excellence and performance.

KEY DUTIES

  • Plan, organise, direct and control the packing of flowers and vegetables.
  • Supervise staff in packaging and production department to ensure products are despatched to tight deadlines.
  • Help with the overall supervision of day-to-day production and packing.
  • Monitoring of production to ensure that the production remains smooth.
  • Ensuring all necessary production paperwork is completed in a timely manner.
  • Provide “hands on” assistance in working with the wider production/packing team to continuously ensure targets are met and client orders are completed on time.
  • Maintain records and documents as required.

THE PERSON

  • A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Packing or Production Supervisor.
  • Interested in lean improvements and processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent people management and motivational skills.
  • Strong IT and paperwork skills.
  • Looking for a long-term career opportunity.

SALARY

An attractive hourly rate of around ÂŁ15 per hour (overtime) will be on offer to the successful candidate.
