Our client is a highly successful and expanding family manufacturing business. Due to ongoing growth, they urgently require an Accounts/Office Manager to take responsibility for a wide range of functions within the Finance Department. The successful candidate will work closely with their External Accountant and manage a small team. This is a superb opportunity for someone to take on additional responsibility and to work with a growing company that rewards excellence and achievement.
THE ROLE
- Assume responsibility for co-ordinating the day-to-day operations of the business, specifically the administration and finance functions.
- Ensure effective support is provided to the entire management team.
- Oversee the sales and purchase ledger.
- Update banking transactions and reconcile statements.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Manage supplier payment runs.
- Run monthly reports and follow up on outstanding debt.
- Check payslips and enter payments into the bank.
- Provide an effective Credit Control service to the company.
- Review and improve company procedures and systems with the Managing Director.
- Prompt analysis and resolution of supplier queries including timely reconciliation of supplier statements.
- Day-to-day management of the front office.
- Assist with general administration, reception work, and HR ethical audits.
THE PERSON
- Ideally a Qualified Accounts Technician or a Part-Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience within industry.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Enjoys dealing with people and contributing to weekly management meetings.
- Excellent IT skills and Sage proficient.
- Able to manage and motivate a small team.
- Able to work closely with external Accountant to enable the smooth running of the Finance Function.
- Enjoys working in a busy, varied environment.

SALARY
A salary of approx. £40k (negotiable) will be on offer to the successful candidate.
