Our client is a family owned, busy and growing construction related company based in the Carrickmore area. Due to increased workload and expansion, they now wish to recruit an experienced Accounts person to take day to day responsibility for the running of the accounts department. The successful candidate will work closely with their external Accountants and will have the full support and assistance from the Accountants to successfully run the accounts function. Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate will take responsibility for a number of key duties within the Accounts Department. This is an ideal role for someone looking for a varied, busy workload with full autonomy.
THE ROLE
- Record Keeping, Purchase/Sales ledger
- Invoicing
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Management of the weekly/ monthly payment run
- Bank Reconciliations
- Preparation & submission of VAT Returns
- Credit control duties and monitoring aged debtor list
- Monitoring Sales Team (assisting with Credit checks/analysis of customers, advice on margins and terms etc).
- Supplier payments
- Keep records of employees' attendance and hours worked; Manage all holidays ensuring the completion of all appropriate administration and that they meet the needs of the business.
- Day to day office and administration duties
THE PERSON
- A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience as a Bookkeeper or Accounts Manager person within a busy environment
- Experience with Sage
- Competent in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy
- Able to work in a small company environment with total responsibility for the accounts office
- Able to liaise with external accountants on an ongoing basis
- Looking for a long term opportunity
