About the Role:
- This is the lead role within the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) team.
- Act as the lead contact for all services to improve their IPC knowledge and practices, especially for health and social care workers.
- Have prior experience of implementing strategies within community settings.
- Responsible for the development of and oversee compliance of the Rushcliffe Care Group’s IPC Delivery Plan.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders across the Company to develop and improve IPC standards and report any key issues and necessary actions to the Rushcliffe Care Group’s Board of Directors.
- Apply expertise in dealing with highly complex issues across a range of different situations and settings.
- Knowledge and understanding of clinical governance systems, including risk management and safeguarding are required.
About You:
- Critical analysis skills to interpret research and guidance and apply as appropriate.
- Data analysis skills for the collection and interpretation of surveillance data.
- Report writing skills and presentation to meetings, boards, partners, etc.
- Policy writing, implementation and evaluation skills.
- Experience of use of infection control audit tools and report writing.
- Effective communication skills, enabling communication across all levels of the Rushcliffe Care Group, stakeholders, partners, public and service users.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- IT literacy across a range of applications; word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, email and internet software.
- An ability to work to tight deadlines, manage and prioritise workload and to deliver high quality work.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
- Clinical experience within a Health Care setting.
- A post registration qualification in Infection Prevention and Control.
- Specialist knowledge across the range of infection, prevention and control, such knowledge will be acquired through experience, diploma specialist training and/or short courses.
- Training and education skills – development, delivery and evaluation of training packages.
- Experience of teaching/presenting to large groups.
- Experience of staff leadership/management of a team.
- Experience of managing projects from inception to delivery.
- Experience of working with/leading work with external colleagues to implement infection prevention strategies.
