Location: Matthews Neuro-Rehabilitation Specialist Unit, Epinal Way Care Centre, Loughborough

Shifts: 40.00 hours per week (shift-based rota over 7 days including weekends and public holidays)

As a Registered Nurse with Rushcliffe Care Group, you will be part of the clinical team responsible for delivering safe, effective, person-centred care. This advert is open to both newly qualified nurses and experienced nurses. The role offered, and rate of pay, will depend on your registration, experience, competence, and suitability for the needs of the service.

The Role

As a Registered Nurse, you will support the delivery of high-quality clinical care within a structured and person-centred environment. You will work as part of the nursing and multidisciplinary team, supporting service users with their physical health, mental health, behavioural needs, clinical care and daily wellbeing.

For newly qualified nurses, the role will include support through preceptorship, with supervision from an experienced nurse preceptor while you develop confidence, clinical competence and leadership skills.

For experienced nurses, the role will include a greater focus on shift leadership, clinical decision-making, staff support, audits, observations of practice and contributing to effective care governance within the service.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include

  • Delivering safe, effective and person-centred nursing care.
  • Completing assessments, care planning, implementation and evaluation of care.
  • Administering and managing medication safely and in line with policy.
  • Monitoring service users’ health, including observations, NEWS2 and signs of deterioration.
  • Maintaining accurate, clear and timely records of care.
  • Supporting service users with dignity, compassion and respect.
  • Working closely with families, colleagues and external professionals.
  • Supporting safeguarding, infection prevention and health and safety standards.
  • Contributing to audits, governance, incident reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Supporting the effective organisation of the shift and safe allocation of staff.
  • Maintaining your own professional development and NMC revalidation requirements.

About You

  • Current NMC registration as an RMN, RN or RNLD.
  • For newly qualified applicants, completion of a nursing degree and active NMC PIN.
  • For experienced nurse applicants, at least 18 months’ NMC registration is expected.
  • A clear understanding of professional accountability under the NMC Code.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • The ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • A commitment to safe, person-centred care.
  • Confidence in medication management, care planning and clinical record keeping.
  • Willingness to complete mandatory training and maintain clinical competence.

About The Service

Matthews Neuro-Rehabilitation Specialist Unit is a 38 bedded unit offering a Multi-Disciplinary approach. We offer person-centred care and support for individuals with acquired and traumatic brain injury, progressive neurological conditions, spinal cord injuries and palliative care.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team including nursing, psychiatry, psychology, and allied health professionals, working together to deliver structured, recovery-focused care in a safe and therapeutic environment.
