About the Service
This role is based at Thorpe House, the head office of Rushcliffe Care Group, but involves working across our wider network of care homes, hospitals, and services. The Estates team plays a vital part in keeping our environments safe, secure, and well maintained so that our service users and staff can focus on care and recovery in a safe setting.
About the Role
As a Property Maintenance Operative Apprentice, you will support the Estates team with day-to-day maintenance and compliance tasks, while completing the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship with SMB College Group. Successful completion of this apprenticeship is a contractual requirement of the role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Carrying out routine internal and external maintenance tasks.
- Supporting with minor plumbing, electrical, and decorating work.
- Completing compliance checks such as fire safety and equipment testing, recording evidence accurately.
- Assisting with drainage maintenance and basic repairs.
- Liaising with contractors and suppliers when required.
- Ensuring health and safety standards are followed at all times.
- Maintaining clean, safe, and tidy environments across all Rushcliffe sites.
- Travelling between sites as required to support maintenance needs.
- This is a practical, hands-on role that will give you broad experience across a range of building and maintenance tasks.
About You
We are looking for someone with:
- An interest in property, maintenance, or construction.
- A willingness to learn and complete the Level 2 Property Maintenance Operative Apprenticeship.
- A full driving licence and access to a vehicle, as travel between sites is required.
- A positive attitude, reliability, and commitment to safe working.
- Good communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Respect and understanding for working in a care environment around vulnerable people.
