We’re currently looking for a motivated and compassionate Occupational Therapy Technician to join our male rehabilitation mental health unit. You’ll be working with adults with complex mental health needs in a service that promotes recovery, independence, and positive change.
*About the service*
Our male rehabilitation unit provides structured, therapeutic care for adult service users living with serious and enduring mental health conditions. The environment is supportive and recovery-focused, with a multidisciplinary team working together to help individuals build the skills they need to move forward.
*About the role*
As an Occupational Therapy Technician, you’ll support the delivery of evidence-based interventions under the supervision of registered Occupational Therapists. This includes both group and 1:1 activities within the unit and out in the community. Your work will focus on developing daily living skills, improving wellbeing, and helping service users regain confidence and autonomy.
*You’ll be expected to:*
* Support the implementation of person-centred care plans
* Facilitate structured sessions that promote engagement, independence, and mental wellness
* Monitor and record progress, sharing feedback with the clinical team
* Adapt routines and environments to improve function and safety
* Contribute to a therapeutic, recovery-oriented setting
* Carry out relevant administrative and service-related duties
* Take part in ongoing supervision, training, and service development
*About you*
We’re looking for someone with:
* A Level 3 Diploma in Occupational Therapy Support or an equivalent qualification
* Experience supporting adults with mental health needs
* Confidence delivering structured sessions under guidance
* A flexible, empathetic, and person-centred approach
* Good communication and organisational skills
It would also be great if you have:
* Experience in a mental health rehab or inpatient setting
* Knowledge of trauma-informed care and recovery models
* The ability to speak Welsh (not essential)
