Leisure Health and Wellbeing Development Officer - The Role:
This exciting position provides a fantastic opportunity to work within the busy Communities team at Rushcliffe Borough Council, collaborating with various partners, community groups and sports clubs to influence programmes and policies to increase sport, health and physical activity. Working in partnership with a range of organisations, sports clubs, leisure providers, and the health and wellbeing development officer (health), this important role will oversee the delivery of key strategic documents and grant funds that support the health and wellbeing of Rushcliffe residents through increased sport and activity.
We are looking for someone with energy, enthusiasm and a passion for sport to act as a local champion promoting active lifestyles and health and wellbeing initiatives throughout Rushcliffe. You will need excellent organisational, communication and partnership working skills as well as the ability to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver and manage sport, physical activity, and health initiatives in line with Rushcliffe Corporate Strategy, collaborating with local partners
- Support wellbeing programs, projects, and strategic plans, including monitoring, evaluation, and reporting
- Advise and assist sports clubs, organizations, and partners on participation, facilities, events, and funding
- Champion active lifestyles, manage budgets and grants, and represent Rushcliffe Borough Council in partnerships
You:
- Experience in sports development or wellbeing, including producing development plans
- Worked with community groups, schools, local authorities, and sports governing bodies
- Project and budget management experience, able to prioritise and meet deadlines under pressure
- Proficient in IT (email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and able to work independently or in a team
- Self-motivated, enthusiastic about promoting sport, adaptable to flexible hours including evenings/weekends, and holds a valid driving license with access to a car
