Salary: LS14-10 £28,512 - £44,412 per annum

Job Type: Part Time

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Our Planning and Growth team handles development proposals ranging from householder extensions to major housing and commercial schemes, with considerable interest from national housebuilders.

Area Planning Officer - The Role:

You will join our well-established Development Management team, managing your own caseload of varied planning applications and pre-application enquiries. You will deal with complex minor applications, smaller major schemes for housing and commercial development, and have opportunities to work on interesting and potentially significant developments. Your work will help enhance the character of the district while you gain experience towards RTPI chartership through the APC route.

Area Planning Officer - Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a complex and varied caseload of planning applications
  • Handle pre-application enquiries and provide professional advice
  • Process and assess housing and commercial development proposals
  • Ensure planning decisions enhance the character and quality of the borough
  • Support the Development Management team in delivering timely decisions

Area Planning Officer - You:

  • Wide-ranging experience across the Development Management process
  • Highly motivated with knowledge of complex planning matters
  • Able to manage multiple applications and priorities effectively
