Our Council offices are located in West Bridgford, Nottingham in a purpose-built office and leisure centre facility, the Rushcliffe Arena. We are recruiting two full-time Administration Assistants to join our Business Support Team.
Administration Assistant - The Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for two experienced administrators to join our Business Support Unit. You will provide technical administration support to many of the council's services in our busy Business Support Unit. The role is varied and you will work with colleagues from all areas of the council, be trained in the use of several IT systems, and be part of an ever-changing working environment. You will be customer-focused, accurate in your work, flexible and adaptable, remaining calm under pressure when responding to changing requirements and priorities.
Administration Assistant - Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored advice and support to members of the public and support the Rushcliffe Community Contact Centre in responding to enquiries and taking telephone payments
- Assess customer needs, allocate requests for service and prioritise appropriately to individuals, teams or service providers
- Verify applications, bookings and requests for service, checking supporting evidence and accuracy
- Enter, maintain and interrogate data in Council systems, understanding and interpreting information
- Process payments using financial systems, verify amounts due and monitor outstanding debtors
- Undertake office-based administrative services including scanning and indexing of documents
- Assist with general enquiry telephone calls and campaigns
- Promote Council facilities and services to maximise income opportunities
Administration Assistant - You:
- Experience working in an office environment with direct contact with the general public or customers
- Experience of meeting targets and deadlines and working effectively under pressure
- Demonstrable experience dealing with complex administrative processes
- Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly
- Flexible, organised and highly motivated with a "can do, will do" attitude
- Ability to prioritise your own workload and work well in a team
