The Role:

You will be based at the Streetwise Bingham Depot, reporting to the Streetwise Manager and overseeing the delivery of all cleansing services across Rushcliffe. This varied role manages litter picking, mechanical sweeping, bin emptying and graffiti removal, while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of council-owned car parks. You will manage work schedules, health and safety, risk assessments, car park operations and income monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and manage Street Scene team members, ensuring HR policies are applied fairly and consistently
  • Monitor and report on service performance, investigate failing areas and introduce remedial measures
  • Manage day-to-day running of the Street Scene service, review work schedules and lead efficiency improvements
  • Manage external customer contracts with town and parish councils, building strong partnership relationships
  • Oversee budgets for Street Scene and car parking services, approve expenditure within authorisation limits
  • Manage day-to-day operations of council off-street car parks and lead car parking related projects
  • Ensure health and safety compliance through regular reviews of risk assessments and method statements

You:

  • Experience of effectively managing staff and creating an environment for people to perform to their best ability
  • Relevant knowledge of health and safety within street scene and operational areas
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, performance, staff development and service requests
  • Excellent organisational skills with flexibility, motivation and ability to work on your own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills with diplomacy and influencing ability at all levels
  • Knowledge of street cleansing services and experience dealing with diverse workforces
