Location: Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire, NG2 7YG Salary: £29,505 per annum Job Type: Full-time Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm, plus the Saturday before Bank Holiday Mondays Closing Date: 4th October 2026

Medical Waste Driver
- The Role:
You will provide first-class medical waste collection services to residents and businesses across Rushcliffe and Gedling. Working independently, you will cover driving duties across both areas, delivering and replacing bins while maintaining exemplary customer service standards. You will handle manual tasks, manage vehicle maintenance, complete all necessary paperwork daily, and be an ambassador for the Council's recycling2go service.
Medical Waste Driver
- Key Responsibilities:
- Collect medical waste from residents and businesses in Rushcliffe and Gedling - Load wheeled bins, bags and bulk containers, maintaining neat and tidy collection practices - Tip waste at agreed locations in compliance with on-site arrangements and policies - Maintain full responsibility for vehicle cleanliness, equipment and compliance with the driver's handbook - Report vehicle accidents immediately and complete all relevant paperwork - Conduct risk assessments on site and communicate perceived risks to team members - Manage weigh tickets, defect reports and driver log books, submitting daily - Wear corporate uniform and safety clothing at all times - Deal politely and effectively with residents and visitors
Medical Waste Driver
- You:
- Hold a full driving licence with 7.5 C1 vehicle experience and current driver CPC qualification - Demonstrate good local knowledge of Rushcliffe and Gedling areas - Show physical strength and fitness capable of heavy manual work - Have reliable punctuality with good work attendance history - Can work unsupervised and communicate effectively with customers - Are able to cope with unpleasant sights and smells - Have a flexible approach to routes and willingness to cover for absences
