About Us: Rushcliffe Borough Council provides high quality services to more than 110,000 residents in a borough made up of vibrant towns and stunning villages. Our Council offices are located in West Bridgford, Nottingham in a purpose-built office and leisure centre facility, Rushcliffe Arena.
The role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Systems Co-ordinator (GIS/Database Management) to join the planning team on a permanent contract. This person will deliver upgrades and improvements to the Council's main system for Planning and Environmental Health. Leading on an exciting project looking to make both the Planning and Public Protection Teams more data driven through the use of innovative technology and geographical systems. This will allow better analysis of data and ensure teams are working effectively and ensuring resources are placed in the areas needed.
Responsibilities:
- Take ownership of ICT systems within Planning and Public Protection services including IDOX Uniform, Enterprise, DMS and GIS systems
- Update, develop and maintain GIS data and build SQL scripts to extract data from databases to create PowerBI and ArcGIS dashboards
- Aid in the scheduled upgrade of the IDOX Uniform Mapping system to a web-based platform
- Train staff on new and current systems and provide technical support to users
- Perform regular system audits to ensure correct access rights, security and appropriate safeguards are in place
You:
- Experience working with GIS systems and strong data management skills with the ability to query databases and produce varied reports
- Technical skills to maintain, develop and enhance software systems, including experience of how GIS and data integrate with IT and Digital systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, good negotiation abilities, and the capacity to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
